Early in his professional years and because of his love for drawing, as well as his innate technical and artistic talents, Angel became an extremely proficient and talented engraver. He later became a Master Engraver and executed his profession for 47 years.
His engraving experience began in 1967. In 1970 he began his training as a master engraver. Years after, in 1979 he became the Head Engraver for the largest engraving company in the world New Hermes Engraving. Angel later became the Engraving Department Manager at Malcolm & Hayes. His engraving credits include: Oscar, Tony, Emmy, Effie, and Clio Awards.
In 1990 Malcolm & Hayes closed their doors, this led to the opportunity and development of his own company Belen Engravers. Renowned institutional clients include Grand Hyatt Hotel, Forbes Magazine, Clio Awards, Intrepid Museum, The Harvard Club, The United Nations and many others. Among the many celebrities whose awards were engraved by Angel include: Hillary Clinton, Oprah Winfrey, Jerome Robbins, Michael Douglass, Whoopee Goldberg, Margaret Thatcher, and Mikhail Gorbachev.
